Ho sempre cercato di convivere con due esigenze diverse, contrastanti fra loro ma destinate pur sempre a un accordo. La prima esigenza è quella di rispettare, nel progetto, l'inscindibilità tra concetto, disegno e forma. La seconda esigenza è quella di far vivere queste mie idee, fin dal loro nascere, in contesti (urbani o naturalistici), che dell'idea fossero non lo sfondo, bensì il luogo della misura. E se, come ovvio, non ero io a scegliere il contesto, mai ho inteso viverlo come un nemico, un freno alla mia opera. Dunque l'ispirazione è una scintilla che nasce dallo scontro fra due modalità quasi sempre in conflitto. Una contraddizione forte, ma pur sempre la mia, di certo largamente irrisolta, ma segnale sicuro che io penso disegnando, come altri hanno fatto e teorizzato dentro lo studio. | I've always tried to live with two different, contrasting requirements which nevertheless are always destined to merge. The first is to respect the inseparability of concept, drawing and form in a project. The second is to let my ideas live from the moment of their conception in either urban or natural settings, i.e., the idea is not the background, but the place of measurement. And if, obviously, I was not the person who chose the setting, I never felt it to be an enemy or something that restricted my work. Inspiration is a spark triggered by a collision between two, nearly always conflictual approaches. A strong contradiction, but nevertheless my own. Although undoubtedly left largely unsolved, it is a sure sign that I think while I draw, like others in the studio have theorised and implemented.
