Un Bosco Verticale è il libro in cui Stefano Boeri racconta il progetto di quello che è diventato, persino prima di essere terminato, uno degli edifici più emblematici di Milano. Il capostipite di una nuova generazione di architetture che non usano il verde come ornamento, ma "sono pensate per essere abitate da alberi e uccelli, oltre che da umani". Architetture urbane che favoriscono la biodiversità delle specie viventi, trasformano in ossigeno grandi quantità di CO2 e assorbono le polveri sottili che avvelenano l'aria delle nostre città. Il Bosco Verticale è il primo passo di una rivoluzione planetaria nella forestazione urbana. A Vertical Forest is the book in which Stefano Boeri speaks about the project that, even before being completed, has since become one of Milan's most iconic buildings. Urban architectures promoting biodiversity of living species, transforming huge amounts of carbon dioxide into oxigen and absorbing particulate matter that poisons the air in our cities. The Vertical Forest is the first step of a global revolution in urban forestry. The book is divided into four parts: "Seven Inspirations", a piece by Stefano Boeri about the birth and development of the project; "Tales from the Vertical Forest", with some short stories by Stefano Boeri, illustrated by Zosia Dzierawska; the "Illustrated Dictionary of the Vertical Forest in 100 entries", gathering the project's key points and finally "Learning from VF01", focused on how to replicate the Milanese prototype in other places in the world and make the utopia of an actual Forest City real.
